What inspires you to decorate your home? One Kings Lane just released this wonderful video (at the bottom of my post) that has completely inspired me to re-look at my home to see how I can update it. What I love about the short clip is how they don’t remodel the entire room, just a few pieces here and there to give the room an entirely new feel! One Kings Lane has new sales pop up all throughout the week and each sale lasts 72 hours, so when you see an item, don’t wait! They offer so many unique styles from fantastic brand names at great prices…head over and check them out today: One Kings Lane. And watch their new quick video here.

Giveaway:Living Gluten Free/ E-Book

ebookcover

I’m really excited to share this review of the Living Gluten Free E-book.  The book was written by two lovely gals, Meg and Lacy.  The e-book is very informative on the way gluten affects your body, what celiac disease is, cross contamination in restaurants and much more.  Gluten is such a dangerous substance, especially if your body does not agree with it.  It can take weeks, even months for gluten to get out of your body.  Gluten is a protein found in wheat, rye, barley and their derivatives.  Oats, normally are gluten-free, but because of cross contamination sometimes will have gluten on them, because of the manufacturing process.  This e-book completely informed me about the dangers of gluten, and just how much damage it can do to your body.  It also gives a list of always safe foods and products that have gluten.  Meg and Lacy also give a nice selection of recipes that are gluten-free.  They all look delicious!

So here is the scoop…I’m giving one lucky reader a free copy of the e-book, Living Gluten Free.  Here’s how to win:

midweek links

memorial weekend 020

I’m loving this new cookbook!  You’ll love everything in it.  I want her killer body.

I’m completely obsessed with these, and just bought this one. They’re very feminine and girly.

These guys are coming to the Santa Barbara Bowl.  Unfortunately tickets are already sold out.  Husband, can you pull any strings?!! PLEASE!

I finally bought this book, and WOW!, what a hidden gem.

I’m longing for a nice long vacay here, it’s been waaay too long!  I’m excited to go in the fall, with my hubby.  Can’t wait to visit my favorite spot.

If you have little ones, you should definitely shop here.  Everything, and I mean EVERYTHING is adorable.

Why would anyone even attempt to remake this film?.  This was my favorite movie when I was younger, the original one.

Have you had these?  Probably.  I’m normally a straight water drinker, but I have a new little obsession with this particular one.

Who wouldn’t want to live here?!

Could this little one be any cuter?! I mean.

Happy midweek!

things

We have a few new things around our home that I wanted to share…

things 003^^^We like to go to the beach and grill, so now we have our own portable one.  Also, when we go camping we don’t have to worry about finding a specific place with a grill, we have our own.  Found this one, here.^^^

things 008^^^Loving our new pouf.  My feet happen to be propped up on it right now.  Makes a great meditation pillow, or a foot rest.  We found it here.^^^

things 017^^^Love, love, love our bolga basket.  It makes for the perfect farmer’s market basket.  Also, for collecting flowers.  You can find one here.^^^

things 019^^^We have carpet in our place (boo), but I have to deal, because we rent.  But, we decided to throw a shag rug down over the carpet, to try to make it look better.  I yearn for hardwood floors.  You can find this one here.  I also FINALLY got a pedicure.^^^

things 022^^^I took my weekly trip down to Target, and found myself some cozy pants.  My husband calls them my blogging pants.  Ha! I say, they’re really cute, and comfy.^^^

things 028^^^We love records!  So naturally if I’m out shopping, I’m stopping by this awesome place!  We’re running out of space and need something new, to hold all of our records.  I was thinking maybe one of these options.  My dream is this.  Maybe someday.^^^

things 010^^^I love having fresh flowers in the house at all times, they make me happy!  My husband brings them home to me every week.  I love him so.^^^

A day in venice

venice 009

I was down in LA for business last week, so I decided to venture over to Venice, for a little window shopping.  Venice is a very unique and artistic city, with so many bright colors everywhere.  I love it!  It’s such a happy place, with happy people, and very cool architecture.

I was able to spend the day in Venice, with a good friend who lives in the area.  She shared her knowledge of all the gorgeous trees in Venice.   They are plum trees, completely red, actually, more maroon, full of bushy leaves and small Persian plums.  She was picking them like crazy, and I was eating them like crazy.  I also checked out Aviator Nation, this place is unreal.  I wanted one of everything.  Paige Mycoskie, is the brains behind this store.  She has one of the coolest places on Abbot Kinney Blvd.  Paige has purchased her own factory, which produces all of her stores clothing.  Made in the USA!!! Just what I like.  We wrapped our day up with a quick trip by the marina in Marina Del Rey.  It was the perfect ending to a fun day!

Thanks, Venice.  I’ll be back soon.

currently noshing…

After being on a complete junk food binge, I’m back to being somewhat healthy.  I remember back in the day, when I had a flat tummy, I would wake up in the morning and start my day with a bowl of Fage 0% greek yogurt.  I have tried lots of different greek yogurts, but this is, by far, the best one in my book.  It’s gluten-free, vegetarian, diabetic-friendly, protein-rich, pregnancy-friendly, and has no added sweeteners or preservative’s.  The way that I eat Fage yogurt, is by adding strawberries, blueberries, or raspberries, then I add hemp seeds, we like this brand and use almost all of their products.  Sometimes I will add Chia seeds, and almost always I will add maca powder.  It’s such a healthy breakfast, or even a mid afternoon snack that won’t make you feel guilty.  You can also find lots of different recipes on the Fage website, that are easy to make.  So do yourself, or better yet, your body a favor, and go grab some healthy deliciousness and indulge!

Happy Weekend!
