Audi Group First Half-Year: Operating Profit at All-Time High

The Audi Group is presenting a solid balance sheet for the first half of 2022. Due to the ongoing semiconductor crisis and COVID-19-related lockdowns in China, Audi could not meet the high demand for its core brand vehicles. Despite this, the Audi Group’s revenues increased by two percent to €29.9 billion, and its operating profit reached a new high of €4.9 billion. At 16.5%, the operating margin was well above the previous year and above the strategic target corridor of 9 to 11%. Earnings were driven by the good price position, the solid operating performance of the Lamborghini and Bentley luxury brands, and support from raw material hedging. The Audi Group confirms its forecast for deliveries, revenue, and returns.

Audi Teams up with Netflix on “The Gray Man” as the Official Automotive Brand featured in the Film

Audi and Netflix collaborate on The Gray Man to bring the world of Sierra Six (Ryan Gosling) to fans around the world. As the film’s official automotive brand, four Audi vehicles will be featured including the all electric Audi RS e-tron GT and Audi Q4 Sportback e-tron, as well as the Audi RS 7 Sportback and Audi R8 Coupe. The Gray Man opened in select theaters globally on July 15 and will be released worldwide on Netflix tomorrow July 22, 2022. The Gray Man is a modern-day global action thriller that features a star-studded cast: Ryan Gosling (Sierra Six), Chris Evans (Lloyd Hansen), Ana de Armas (Dani Miranda), Jessica Henwick (Suzanne Brewer), Regé-Jean Page (Denny Carmichael), Wagner Moura (Laszlo), Julia Butters (Claire), Dhanush (Avik San), with Billy Bob Thornton (Donald Fitzroy), and Alfre Woodard (Margaret Cahill), and more.

Winfried Kretschmann, Minister-President of the German state of Baden-Württemberg, visits Audi’s Neckarsulm location and personally exchanges ideas about the transformation of the auto industry and the Neckarsulm location with Audi CEO Markus Duesmann for the first time. During a tour of the factory, Kretschmann witnessed production of the fully electric Audi e-tron GT quattro in the Böllinger Höfe. Afterwards, the Minister-President spoke with the Audi Chief Executive about the company’s strategy – and what general conditions need to be established in order to design the mobility of the future.

Cornerstone laid in Changchun: Audi FAW NEV Company builds smart factory for e-models

With the foundation of the Audi FAW NEV Company, Audi has set the course for made-in-China production of models based on the PPE (Premium Platform Electric) technology platform for the Chinese market. Work has now begun on the new production site in the northern Chinese metropolis of Changchun. With construction set to finish by the end of 2024, this will be the first automotive plant in China where only all-electric Audi models roll off the line. The factory is designed to produce more than 150,000 vehicles a year. All site processes will be networked, with Audi’s “Mission Zero” environmental program setting the guardrails for sustainable production.

Audi continues to roll out charging hub after success of initial pilot phase

Feedback following the pilot phase of the Audi charging hub in Nuremberg turned out to be overwhelmingly positive. The fact that repeat customers accounted for some 60 percent of charging sessions confirms the Four Ring’s globally unique, urban charging concept. The Audi charging hub mostly serves urban drivers who aren’t able to charge at home. Starting in the second half of the year, a second compact Audi charging hub pilot site will open in downtown Zurich, followed by sites in Salzburg and Berlin. Additional sites are slated to open in Germany in 2023 and mid-2024.

Audi Board of Management change: Xavier Ros to succeed Board Member for Human Resources Sabine Maassen

At today’s meeting of the Supervisory Board of AUDI AG, Xavier Ros was appointed Board Member for Human Resources and Organization at AUDI AG. He will succeed Sabine Maassen on 20th May 2022. Having attained a degree in mechanical engineering, Ros started his professional career at Audi in 1994 before switching to SEAT in 1999 and later to Volkswagen. Since September 2015, he’s been in charge of SEAT’s Human Resources division in Martorell. With this transfer to the Audi Board of Management, the company’s executive level is becoming even more international by bringing a native of Spain on board.

The Audi TechDay Charging Experience will show how we give our customers an integrated experience through technical expertise, a sophisticated battery concept, and a reliable remaining range display. It begins in our battery testing center in Gaimersheim and our know-how in the design, development, and control of battery cells. To give customers a taste of premium charging, the Audi charging hub in Nuremberg will demonstrate that the future belongs to reservable high-power charging in urban spaces. For that reason, we are planning additional sites. Finally, customers will experience first-hand through the remaining range display in our e-tron models that reliability is our top priority and an intelligent algorithm makes all the difference.
