A new YOU!

I wanted to take a moment to pop over here and tell you about a new venture I’ve added to the shop.  Closet Editor, someone who comes and organizes your closet to make you feel good, free of chaos, and have an order to your clothing, accessories and shoes.

Standing in front of your closet, staring at what to wear in the morning, is something we all have done once or twice. (eye roll) I will come organize you to exactly what fits your personality. This is something that tends to go deeper than the surface.

Fashion is something that should make you feel good, support who you are. Your wardrobe should speak to you, every single piece. Sometimes we have a hard time getting rid of “stuff”, I’m here to help you organize the chaos. I want you to feel good when you get up and get in that closet of yours every day.

Sometimes you just need a little guidance, and that’s where I come in.

Looking forward to turning your life back to where it needs to be. Happy, simple and fun!

Please feel free to email me at shoplovethreads@gmail.com for any questions and a quote.

Currently serving Los Angeles, Montecito, Summerland, Santa Barbara and Carpinteria.

Every year we take a trip to Mexico.  We switch it up, Cabo, Puerto Vallarta, Tulum, or Sayulita.  We usually go for a week or two, but this time we only went for 5 days.  We decided on a shorter stay this time around because we had Eleanor, and we weren’t sure how she would do.  She did great!  Sayulita, has always been a favorite for me.  The small town is very family friendly, with little ones everywhere.  We stayed right in the town square this time, at a quaint little boutique hotel, Hotel Hafa. It was perfect, very simple.

Back to the grind this week. Love Threads has so many new arrivals coming in this week, so keep your eyes posted.  Spring is here (at least for us Californians), and new things will keep rolling in.

Here are some photos from our trip, if you’d like to see this great little town.  It’s a great, inexpensive, little town to visit.

Have the best week ever!!!

surf chic

We live on the coast, and therefore we surf.  Well, let me clear that up, my husband surfs.  I’m a beach girl.  I could stay, play and lay all day long if my life allowed.  Here are some homes that show just how chic surfing really is.  But, we all knew that anyway, right?!

Oh, by the way, can I please have all of these homes. One can always dream….

Chic surfing homes…

beach day

We decided to take advantage of this gorgeous weather we are having.  I almost hate to say this, but it has been in the upper 70’s and low 80’s around here lately.  Can’t complain.  This is definitely what we pay for, and I tell you, we PAY for it!  The husband and I rarely have a full day together, so when we do it is definitely a treat.  We packed up the grill (best investment ever), which I’ve talked about here and here, grabbed some burgers,  and headed down to check out the surf.  It was PERFECT!

It’s days like these that I never want to move from Santa Barbara.  Everything seems just fine the way it is.

The last of Florida

florida^^^The peace sign is because his shorts were falling down. ha!^^^

We are back home and back to our regular every day activities.  I am working on a few projects and one really BIG one that I can’t wait to share with you VERY soon.  I’m so excited I can hardly wait, but I have to, just for a few more weeks.  We had the best time in Florida.  We were down there to deal  mainly with some medical stuff, but we had lots of free time to enjoy our surroundings.  The pictures below were of our last hooray at the beach with Dave surfing and doing his thing in the water. I wish I could surf, I’m afraid of sharks.  True story.  I even spent the summers of my childhood at the beach, and to this day I have a huge fear of sharks.  So I just put my toes and maybe a little more in and that’s it.  I leave the cool surfing thing up to my husband.

Thanks, Florida.  You sure are hot and humid, but you also have the most amazing clouds in your sky.

cocoa beach

Another stop on our journey through the sunshine state, brings us to Cocoa Beach, Florida.  Dave and I had lunch a cool place called Simply Delicious.  Everything at Simply Delicious is homemade, including the bread.  We tried hard to resist the homemade cookies, but eventually broke down and had one.  Our next stop in Cocoa Beach took us to the legendary, Ron Jon Surf Shop.  This place is wall to wall gear.  My husband was in heaven.  I kind of was too.  We purchased some fun stuff for us and for friends.  Our last stop in Cocoa Beach was “the beach”.  The beaches here in Florida are so white, with the prettiest color of blue/green ocean.

We really like you, Florida!

Have a great weekend, everyone!

beach grillin’

beachbbqandsalad 002 I’ve mentioned before that my husband works around the clock, 7 days a week.  Okay, I might be exaggerating a tad, but, seriously, a lot!  He finally got one whole day and night off this last week and we took full advantage of it.  I shared in this post, how we purchased a fun, new grill for the beach.  We tested that baby out, and she grilled like a dream.  It was seriously the best twenty bucks I’ve spent in a long time.  The weather was perfect, the atmosphere was great, and the company was beyond…

We grilled chicken and pineapple, with some yummy kabobs that we picked up from Trader Joe’s.  I love how Trader’s has so many already prepped items to chose from, perfect for an afternoon bbq.  Thanks for the good eats Trader’s.  And, most importantly, thanks, husband for taking one WHOLE day off!  I love you.

Hope everyone had a lovely solstice weekend!

a beach bbq

beach bbq bday 028

This last weekend we had a small bbq at the beach.  It was perfect.  “June gloom” has definitely set in, but I like it.  I’m sure by the end of June I’ll be over it.  The bbq, was a gathering to celebrate a special day for a beautiful journey that I am on.  I truly feel blessed to have so many special people in my life who care.  It has taken me a while (a long while) to adjust to California.  I have many wonderful friends, who have been through it all with me, and know me, almost better than myself, back in Omaha.  I speak with them almost daily, which almost makes it harder (i’m tearing up writing this).  But, I have made some new friends along the way, and they are special to me too.  So, this was a party with my new friends, that they so generously threw for me, and I am forever grateful for them.

Thanks, old and new friends.  I love you all!

summer selections

Here are a few of my favorite things, that I am eyeing for the summer.  Something for the beach, something to read, and something to eat.  I’m buying the book and making the salad pronto!  I’m saving my pennies to buy something from Ace and Jig.  If you’ve never looked at their gorgeous pieces, check them out.  You’ll find something you will want.  I promise.

Feel free to share your summer favorites.

Weekend Shenanigans

Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!  We were busy, good busy.  The mister was working all weekend, but I was playing.  the weather was gorgeous.  I got to celebrate a friend’s birthday, attend a tea and crumpet gathering,  a fabulous dinner at this place, and go to the beach.

This was my first time going to a tea and crumpet party.  Crumpets, which are a mix between a pancake and an english muffin, are pretty darn good.  If you’d like to try them, you can purchase already made ones, at trader Joe’s.  They’re pretty much a carb overload, but, who doesn’t love that!  I was also part of a very special celebration this weekend, for a very special lady.  So proud of you, Stephanie.  Then Sunday rolled around, and it was time to hit the beach for a little r&r.  So we gathered some folks together and made a fun day out of it.  Thanks, friends.

I feel so grateful to be surrounded by such amazing people, today.  Who knew life could be this good!
