Eleanor and I are so excited to share this post with you. Today is moms day off, so we are off to the parks. We are so fortunate to live around the block from the Alice Keck Park Memorial Gardens and Kid’s World at Alameda Park.

It may not look like it, but we’ve been up since 4:30 am.

I did say we live right around the corner from the parks, but I thought it would be a good idea to drive just in case Eleanor came up with a different plan.

We enjoy feeding the ducks and turtles at the garden koi pond.

The Memorial Garden features a collection of 75 different trees, and plant species. The Alice Keck Park Memorial Garden Self-Guided Tree & Plant Tour includes a sensory garden with audio posts, interpretive Braille signs, walking paths, picnic areas; and Gazebo.

A butterfly garden includes host plants for butterflies and moths.

Moving right along, we spent the rest of the day swinging and sliding at Kids World.

We hope you enjoyed your day in the parks with us.

The First Few Days With My New Camera

I’m so in love, I don’t even know when to put it down. Ha! I have been completely enamored with my new little toy. My new camera. This is actually the first time I have sat down and went through every bit of reading material and watched the cds that were provided. (I usually just TRY to figure it out). I’m a fast learner when it comes to something I love, so…I’m excited! I also have a friend, who I’ve mentioned here, that is a good go-to girl, with all the knowledge about photography.

Here are some of my first photos. Thanks to my husband and friend, who were my first subjects.

*my cute husband. I love you so*

A Valentine’s Day To Remember

I had the most amazing Valentine’s day. My husband, who always has something up his sleeve, pulled off a good one. We went to eat at one of my favorite restaurants, Opal. We had a lovely dinner, and then came time for the dessert. I see the waitress walking over with a candle on the dessert, and asked “Why does she have a candle on the dessert”, Dave said “I don’t know”. She arrived at the table with a plate that said “Happy Valentine’s Day” in chocolate with a box sitting along with it, that had a Canon EOS Rebel T3 in it. Oh My! I sure was surprised. The funny thing about this, was that on our way to dinner, I told my husband that I didn’t really need to have that camera that I’ve been obsessing about for a while. Ha!

What a fun night. I only wish I was as good as my husband with gift giving. He always goes to the extreme. No complaints here.
 Thanks, honey.

I hope you all had a wonderful Valentine’s Day!

My Love For This Camera…

My first love is my husband, then my family, then…Polaroids!
Lately the only type of picture I want to take is a Polaroid. They are fun and vintage. I decided to go out and buy the Instax Fuji Polaroid camera. I love it! Polaroids remind me of the good ole days, when everything seemed so fresh and pure…maybe I’m just delusional. ha!
PS I’m also loving Washi tape…See bottom two photos.
