Shorts!

Short shorts are definitely making a come back.  If you don’t feel like you have short worthy legs, they always make for a cute pair of pajamas.  Love Threads is stocking up!

They also look cute paired with a military boot, or the popular Sam Edelman petty boot.  Something being added to the shorts this year are the pom poms. Done right, the look is great.  I’m not going to lie, I’ve seen some scary ones. Ha!

Here are a few pieces that have started to arrive…

kimonos

Kimono’s: There is something so simple and easy about throwing on a kimono. They make every outfit look stylish and fashionable.  I love throwing them on with jeans and a t-shirt.  It’s easy and you’re out the door in a minute.  Something we could probably all use a little help with.  They also make great cover-ups.

Love Threads just received a few different ones, and I love them all.  Here is a look at the newest styles…

California Love

My love for California changes all of the time.  Some days it’s too expensive, some days it’s just right, and some days I can’t make up my mind.  But, ultimately it really is a good place.  I mean, the fresh veggies year round, the weather is pretty much always warm, and the number one thing, the ocean.  Besides the one mild earthquake I’ve experienced, nothing REALLY is that bad. Oh and the people, I haven’t quite figured them out, but that’s ok, everyone is kind of in their own world anyways.

So to show our true love for Cali, and my new home, here are a couple fun tees and sweatshirts I brought into the shop…

exciting news!

Some of you may not know my background, but for 12 years I owned and operated an upscale women’s clothing boutique. It was my love and passion for so long, it was all I knew.  I never thought about marriage or a family, because my store was my marriage and my family.  After twelve hard, fun, frazzled, satisfying years, I sold my store packed up and moved to southern California.  I needed to rest.  I had put in long hours and I was “tired”.

On my drive from Omaha, Nebraska to Santa Barbara, California, I thought long and hard about what I wanted my next step in life to be.  I felt I had accomplished a lot for only being 32, but I also knew something was  missing.  I remember when I was 20 and everyone was going out all of the time, I was always working, but that’s where I wanted to be.  My twenties were a blur.  I worked and worked and worked some more.  I played hard on the weekends and continued to work.  It’s what I knew how to do best.  But I grew tired, and wanted a break.  So on a May morning, I packed my car, and started my journey half way across the country to California.  I remember the morning so vividly, I had the feeling that a huge “something” had been lifted off of my shoulders (a bittersweet moment, for sure).  I remember playing my music as loud as I could, with all of my windows rolled down, driving  for miles.  On my drive I realized, maybe in Utah, that I really did want to get married and settle down, and just maybe, have some children.

(obviously there are a lot of little details I spared you from.  Boring).

I arrived in Cali, and soon afterwards, met who would be my future husband.  We were just friends, no seriously, we were. Then the friendship blossomed into a beautiful relationship, then we got married.  And yes, it pretty much happened that fast.  I was experiencing a part of life I never even knew existed.  I was in pure bliss! I didn’t work for a while, then picked up a pretty good job, which to this day I’m thankful for, but it never really gave me the challenge or let me use my creative outlet.  I missed my store, and missed the creative energy it gave me.

And this is where the news starts:  after much thought and pondering I have decided to launch an online women’s clothing boutique, called Love Threads.  The web address is www.shoplovethreads.com.  The shop will carry reasonably priced clothing for any age woman.  I hope you all enjoy what you see and we will continue to add new items daily.

Thank you to everyone who has supported this blog from the beginning.  I never thought I’d have anyone more than a couple readers, aka family members, and it has blossomed into much more.  I love you all!

XO

Have you seen these gorgeous bags?  They are by Baggu.  I love this line.  We use their reusable tote bags for the grocery store and the beach.  They also have gorgeous leather tote bags.  They are just plain and simple bags that you can use for everyday uses.  Also, their prices are very reasonable.  Something cute and reasonable, I’ll take it!

back to school fashion, for the littles.

The other day I received a phone call from my niece asking to be on my blog.  Of course,  I said yes, and asked her what we should talk about.  We decided to do a “back to school fashion” post.  The pictures were sent to me via a cell phone, so I’m sorry the quality isn’t the best.  But, as you can see I have a very fashionable little niece, who is going to be completely styled when she goes back to school in a few weeks.  Thanks, doll.  Now,  come see your auntie in Cali!

Things I’m fawning over!

Right now I have a wishlist a mile long of some new goodies that I really want, but don’t need. Because we have to save every bit of money right now, for something coming up, I’m on a spending freeze. Yikes! I don’t like spending freezes, who does, right?! These two designers happen to make the most beautiful pieces of jewelry, and I wanted to share them with you, especially if your lucky, and can spare to buy one, do, you won’t regret it. My first wishlist designer is The 2Bandits. Check out these amazing pieces. Their sterling silver cuffs are what I have my eye on…

My other love is, Another feather, her rings are just about the most amazing things I have ever seen. Delicate, feminine, sexy.
