Raw Protein Balls

Processed with VSCOcam with f2 preset

Happy Monday!

We are continuing the healthy eating around here.  Our bodies feel amazing, and our hearts are full.  I’ve mentioned before, this is a huge change for me.  Not so much for my husband, he’s one of those disciplined ones.  I’ve always been the type that just does “whatever”! Eat, drink, have fun! Ha! My life has very much changed in the last 5 years, and even more so, in the last month.  I hope to continue this journey forever.  I’m not tempted by refined sugar any more, I’m not wanting the processed food, and most importantly, I’m enjoying my life to the fullest!

If I do ever have a sweet tooth craving, these protein balls are my go-to treat.  We have them in our refrigerator at all times.  Seriously! Even our babysitter loves them!

Raw Protein Balls

1 cup gluten free oats (we use the ones from Trader Joe’s)

1 big scoop of egg white protein powder (we buy Jay Robbs, from Whole Foods)

2 T flax seed

2 T chia seeds

2 T hemp seeds

5-6 drops of liquid stevia

2 T cacao powder

1 T cocoa powder unsweetened

Almond butter (I never measure, but you want to add enough to bind all of the ingredients together)

Mix all of the ingredients together, roll in to bite size balls.  Store them in a glass container, in the refrigerator.

They are a great source of energy right before you go to the gym too!

The original recipe is from here, this is my girlfriend who has been coaching me along. I did modify a bit.
